There should be 1 community lot per 15 adult Sims or so. You can switch lots if you get bored of going to the same place all the time, but LIMIT the number of lots. One park, One bar, One lounge, One gym, One hangout, etc. I know it's tempting to have LOTS and LOTS of community lots but the way Sims 3 works makes it so too many community lots will spread Sims all around town and there won't be as many people on every lot. The game sends more Sims to community lots the higher your CPU is rated as. This tutorial should help you out, it's super easy. Trick the game to think your CPU is level 4 by editing the GraphicsRules file.Only restaurants should be set as visitors allowed (Pro-Tip: if you have Into the Future place the food synthesizer to spawn a waiter). There's no need to have 5 people standing in front of the theatre reading a book and a kid doing homework. Make sure every rabbit hole community lot is set as NO VISITORS ALLOWED.I recommend doing one 8-Sim household for every two community lots (the blue ones). Register all of them as self-employed (you may need to cheat skills), that way story progression won't try to find them jobs making them unavailable at certain hours. Create a bunch of 8-Sim Young Adult Households and move them in.These tricks will work regardless of hardware, though keep in mind too many Sims on one lot may lead to crashes depending on your system. These tips are intended for those who struggle to get more than 2 to 5 Sims at community lots in The Sims 3.
